Delhi Election 2025: The political equations in various constituencies for the 2025 Delhi Assembly elections seem to be changing. This time, several constituencies are witnessing a triangular contest, which could lead to a shift in the results. In the previous election, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) won 62 out of 70 seats.
Burari Assembly Seat
In 2020, AAP’s Sanjeev Jha defeated JD(U)’s Shailendra Kumar by a large margin of 88,158 votes. This time, Congress has changed its candidate and fielded Mangesh Tyagi. Both BJP and Congress are focusing on the Purvanchali voters, who play an important role in this constituency. JD(U) has re-nominated Shailendra Kumar, but there is internal discontent over ticket distribution in both BJP and AAP.
Okhla Assembly Seat
In 2020, AAP’s Amanatullah Khan defeated BJP’s Brahm Singh by a large margin. This time, BJP and Congress have fielded new candidates. BJP has chosen Manish Chaudhary, while Congress has fielded Ariba Khan. Muslim voters play a significant role in Okhla, and AIMIM has fielded Shifa-ur-Rehman, who was accused in the Delhi riots, as their candidate. His wife is also taking charge of the election campaign, making this contest more interesting.
Seemapuri Assembly Seat
In 2020, AAP’s Rajender Pal Gautam secured a big win, but he has now joined Congress. BJP has fielded Rinku, who was previously with Congress. Meanwhile, AAP has fielded Veer Singh Dhingan. After Rajender Pal Gautam’s two consecutive wins, the political dynamics in this constituency are seeing a shift.
Matia Mahal Assembly Seat
In 2020, Shoaib Iqbal defeated BJP’s Ravindra Gupta by a large margin. This time, AAP has fielded Shoaib Iqbal’s son, Aale Iqbal, while BJP has fielded Deepti Indora. Sultanpur Majra Assembly Seat
In 2020, AAP’s Mukesh Kumar Ahlawat defeated BJP’s Ramchandra Chawaria. This time, BJP has fielded Karm Singh Karma.
