A case was filed on Monday under the SC/ST Prevention of Atrocities Act against Infosys co-founder Kris Gopalakrishnan, former IISc director Balram, and 16 others. There has been no immediate response from Kris Gopalakrishnan, who is either an IISc faculty member or a member of the IISc Board of Trustees.
He claimed that he was falsely implicated in a honey trap case in 2014 and was later dismissed from service. He further alleged that he was subjected to casteist slurs and threats. Other accused in the case include Govindan Rangarajan, Sridhar Warrier, Sandhya Vishweshwaraih, Hari KVS, Dasappa, Balram P, Hemlata Mishra, Chattopadhyay K, Pradeep D. Sawkar, and Manoharan.
Who is Kris Gopalakrishnan?
Kris Gopalakrishnan, one of the co-founders of Infosys, served as the Vice Chairman of Infosys from 2011 to 2014 and as the CEO and Managing Director from 2007 to 2011.
According to Gopalakrishnan’s LinkedIn profile, he was elected President of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), India’s top industry chamber, for 2013-14. He also served as one of the co-chairs of the World Economic Forum in Davos in January 2014. In January 2011, the Government of India honored Gopalakrishnan with the Padma Bhushan, the country’s third-highest civilian award.
Kris Gopalakrishnan has a Master’s degree in Physics and Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras. He is a Fellow of the Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE) and an Honorary Fellow of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) of India.
