
Game Changer Day 1 Box Office Collection: Ram Charan’s Film Earns ₹47 Crore, Surpasses VVR Opening
Ram Charan’s much-awaited film Game Changer has taken a strong start at the box office. Directed by Shankar and featuring Kiara Advani, SJ Suryah, and Anjali in key roles, the film released on January 10, 2025, and earned an impressive ₹47.13 crore net in India on its opening day. According to reports from Sacnilk, the film has outperformed the first-day collections of Ram Charan’s last solo release, Vinaya Vidheya Rama (VVR), which earned ₹34 crore.
Language-wise Collection Breakdown
The film registered significant earnings across languages:
Telugu: ₹38 crore
Hindi: ₹7 crore
Tamil: ₹2 crore
Kannada: ₹0.1 crore
Malayalam: ₹0.03 crore

Occupancy Trends
Game Changer saw strong audience turnout across regions. The Telugu version recorded 55.82% occupancy for morning shows, 39.33% for afternoon shows, and 50.53% for evening shows. Notably, the 4DX Hindi version of the film achieved an 82% occupancy rate during afternoon screenings.
Comparison with Previous Releases
While Game Changer surpassed the openings of Vinaya Vidheya Rama and Acharya (₹37.10 crore), it fell short of Ram Charan’s 2022 blockbuster RRR, which collected ₹133 crore on its opening day.
Plot and Cast
In Game Changer, Ram Charan plays dual roles as IAS officer Ram Nandan and activist Appanna, with Kiara Advani portraying his love interest, Deepika. SJ Suryah essays the role of a corrupt politician Mopidevi, while Srikanth plays an aging Chief Minister, Sathyamurthy. The story, penned by Karthik Subbaraj, focuses on corruption in electoral politics.

Critical Reception
The Hindustan Times review described Game Changer as “strictly average” but appreciated its focus on highlighting political corruption. The review added, “It succeeds in staying focused on what it sets out to do but gives you nothing more.”
