New Delhi:
Delhi Fire Service (DFS) Chief Atul Garg has denied reports that cash was found while extinguishing a fire at a Delhi High Court judge’s official residence. He stated that the control room received information about the fire at 11:35 PM on March 14. Two fire tenders were immediately dispatched and reached the location by 11:43 PM.

Fire Broke Out in Store Room
According to Atul Garg, the fire broke out in a store room containing stationery and household items. The fire was controlled within 15 minutes, and no casualties were reported. DFS officials promptly informed the police after dousing the flames. Garg emphasized that no cash was found during the firefighting operation.
Reports had surfaced in the media claiming that cash was recovered during the fire incident at the judge’s residence. However, the DFS chief has now refuted these claims, confirming that firefighters did not find any cash at the site.
Supreme Court Warns Against Misinformation
The Supreme Court has taken note of the incident, warning against the spread of false information and rumors. It clarified that the judge’s transfer proposal to Allahabad High Court is independent of this incident and unrelated to any internal investigation.
The Supreme Court revealed that the Delhi High Court Chief Justice had already initiated an internal inquiry to gather evidence and information before the March 20 Collegium meeting. A detailed report has been submitted to the Chief Justice of India, who will review it before deciding on any necessary legal actions.
