The nominations for the Oscars 2025 have been announced, and there is great news for India that will fill the entire nation with pride.

India has made a mark at the Oscars 2025! On Thursday, the nominations for the 97th Academy Awards were announced. Priyanka Chopra and Guneet Monga’s film Anuja has been nominated in the Best Live Action Short Film category. Out of 180 films, only 5 have been nominated in this category, and one of them is the Indian film Anuja. The other films nominated alongside Anuja are Alien, I Am Not a Robot, The Last Ranger, and A Man Who Would Not Remain Silent.

Guneet’s brilliance!
This is Guneet’s third Oscar nomination. Previously, her projects The Elephant Whisperers and Period. End of Sentence. had not only been nominated but also won Oscars.

The story of Anuja
Anuja revolves around a 9-year-old girl who works in a garment factory with her sister. The film portrays how one decision changes her and her family’s future. It is directed by Adam J. Graves and will stream on Netflix.

Conan O’Brien will host the Oscars 2025. This will be his first time hosting the Oscars. The 97th Academy Awards will take place at the Dolby Theatre on March 2.
