India vs New Zealand Final: Will Matt Henry Play or Not?
BetulHub Sports Desk: Ahead of the Champions Trophy 2025 Final, New Zealand has been hit with a major setback as their key pacer, Matt Henry, is doubtful for the crucial clash against India. Cricket analyst Aakash Chopra hinted at Henry’s fitness concerns, which could be a huge blow for the Black Caps and an advantage for Team India.
Henry’s Injury Raises Concerns for New Zealand
During the semi-final against South Africa on March 5, Henry suffered a shoulder injury while attempting a catch. Since then, his availability for the final has been uncertain. The 32-year-old has been in top form throughout the tournament, bagging 10 wickets so far, making him one of the best pacers in the competition.

Aakash Chopra’s Big Statement on Henry & Shami
On his YouTube channel, Aakash Chopra analyzed the performances of Matt Henry and Mohammad Shami, stating that both have been equally impressive. He remarked:
“One side has Mohammad Shami, and the other has Matt Henry. Both have been outstanding. Henry took a five-wicket haul against us, while Shami did the same against Bangladesh. But will Henry play in the final? That’s a big question.”
Shami’s Last ICC Trophy?
Chopra also suggested that this might be Shami’s last chance to win an ICC trophy, as he might not be part of India’s plans for the T20 World Cup 2026. He further emphasized that the final will also determine who becomes the leading wicket-taker of the tournament—Henry or Shami.
Advantage India?
If Henry misses the final, it could significantly weaken New Zealand’s bowling attack, making India’s path to the Champions Trophy 2025 title easier. With Shami in red-hot form, India will have the edge in this high-stakes battle.
