Union Minister Raksha Khadse Files Complaint Over Daughter’s Harassment at Muktainagar Police Station
Union Minister Raksha Khadse lodged a complaint at Muktainagar Police Station in Maharashtra on Sunday regarding the harassment and misconduct faced by her daughter and her friends. She stated that some young men followed her daughter and her friends, pushed them, and even took their photos and videos. When her security personnel objected, they were assaulted. Expressing her concern, she said, “If the daughter of a Union Minister is not safe, what must be happening to common people?”
Incident Details
The incident occurred on Friday night during the Sant Muktai Yatra in Kothali village, Muktainagar. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis commented on the case, stating that the accused were linked to a political party and that some arrests had already been made.

What Happened?
Raksha Khadse explained that she was in Gujarat at the time when her daughter sought permission to attend the event. She advised her to go with security guards and a few staff members. She further revealed, “Some boys followed my daughter and her friends, pushed them, and took their photos and videos. When my staff objected, they misbehaved, and soon, a crowd of 30-40 people gathered.”
Upon returning home on Sunday morning, Khadse’s daughter informed her that the same group of boys had harassed her during another public event on February 24. Expressing her deep concern, the Union Minister said, “If this can happen to a Member of Parliament’s daughter, one can only imagine the plight of common citizens’ daughters.”
Local Complaints Against the Accused
Khadse also mentioned that local residents of Muktainagar had reported similar complaints, stating that these boys frequently harassed school-going girls. She contacted the Chief Minister and the Deputy Superintendent of Police, demanding the immediate arrest of all accused.
CM Devendra Fadnavis’ Response
Speaking to reporters in Raigad, CM Devendra Fadnavis confirmed, “Those who misbehaved with Khadse’s daughter are associated with a political party. The local police have arrested some of the accused, and strict action will be taken against them.”
Congress Criticism
Maharashtra Congress President Harshvardhan Sapkal criticized the ruling Mahayuti government, stating, “The law and order situation in the state has completely collapsed. The harassment of a Union Minister’s daughter and the assault on her security personnel are extremely concerning. It shows that women and girls are not safe in Maharashtra.” He also claimed that Khadse had to remain at the police station because the accused were not arrested immediately.
Women’s Commission’s Reaction
Maharashtra State Commission for Women Chairperson and NCP leader Rupali Chakankar took the case seriously, saying that she had spoken to officials at Muktainagar Police Station. She assured, “A case has been registered, and the accused will be arrested soon. These individuals have been involved in similar offenses before. In crowded places, local police should deploy a ‘Damini Squad’ for women’s safety.”
