Jagran Correspondent, Hazaribagh:
In the Ichak police station area of Hazaribagh district, Jharkhand, tensions flared at Hindustan Chowk in Dumairan when some people attempted to install a loudspeaker for Shivratri celebrations but were stopped by members of a particular community.
This led to an argument between the two groups. Station in-charge Santosh Kumar arrived at the scene and tried to mediate between both sides.
Just as the situation was settling, members of a particular community allegedly began pelting stones from the premises of Upgraded Middle School Dumairan, which also houses a madrasa.
The station in-charge and police personnel narrowly escaped injury. Following this, the other group also started pelting stones. The entire village turned into a battlefield for nearly an hour.
Area Turned into a Military Camp
After this, the miscreants set fire to a Baleno car and two motorcycles parked nearby. Following the incident, the police turned the entire Dumairan village into a security camp.
Several officials, including trainee IPS officer Shruti Agarwal, BDO Santosh Kumar, and CO Ramji Prasad Gupta, have been stationed in the area. Two people have been arrested in connection with the case, and raids are being conducted to apprehend other accused individuals.

Meanwhile, Jharkhand government minister Irfan Ansari also reacted to the incident. He stated that he has received information about the matter and has spoken to the SP regarding it. He instructed officials in Hazaribagh to handle the situation with understanding and caution.
