After losing the battle of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal has kept himself away from the media. He was briefly seen during a meeting with Punjab MLAs. Now, speculation is rife about whether Kejriwal will become the Chief Minister of Punjab or go to the Rajya Sabha from the state. These rumors gained further momentum after AAP fielded Sanjeev Arora for the Ludhiana West Assembly by-election. However, the Aam Aadmi Party has now come forward to dismiss these reports as baseless and false.

AAP spokesperson Priyanka Kakkar has categorically stated that such reports circulating in the media are completely untrue. She emphasized that Sanjeev Arora is the best candidate for the seat as he has been among the people and understands their issues, which is why he was chosen to contest from there. Speaking about Arvind Kejriwal, she added that earlier, there were claims that he would become the Chief Minister of Punjab, then there were rumors about him going to the Rajya Sabha—both of which are false. She further clarified that Kejriwal is the party’s national convener and is not limited to just one state.
In the Delhi Assembly elections, AAP secured only 22 out of 70 seats, with Arvind Kejriwal even losing his own New Delhi seat. Currently, AAP is in power in only one state—Punjab—where Bhagwant Mann is the Chief Minister, and the party holds a clear majority with 93 MLAs. Meanwhile, Congress leader Partap Singh Bajwa has claimed that 32 AAP MLAs are in touch with his party. Amid these developments, speculations arose that Kejriwal might be planning to enter the Rajya Sabha or take the CM’s post in Punjab.
