Jyothika to Star in Netflix Series ‘Dabba Cartel’ Soon
Jyothika and Suriya live like regular parents at home.
Jyothika has no regrets about not working in Hindi films.
Famous actress and wife of South superstar Suriya, Jyothika, is all set to appear in her upcoming Netflix series, Dabba Cartel. In a recent interview, she opened up about her life with Suriya and their approach to parenting. She revealed that at home, they live like regular parents, with no signs of their stardom.

In a conversation with News18 Showsha, Jyothika also spoke about gender discrimination. She shared that after marrying a South superstar, she has often faced taunts from people who hold different perspectives for men and women.
In an interview with Screen, Jyothika discussed how she and her husband Suriya behave with their children at home. She emphasized that they leave their stardom at the doorstep before entering the house, where everyone is treated equally. Their focus remains on raising their children.
She explained:
“We believe that we leave our stardom at the doorstep. At home, we are just parents to our children. If the conversation is about lunch boxes, then our children take center stage. The most important thing in the morning is what goes into their school tiffin. One tiffin leaves for school at 6 AM, and the other at 12 PM. Most of our discussions revolve around what the kids are eating and how to pack and send their food. At home, we are completely parents—our stardom stays outside.”
Jyothika also stated that she has no regrets about not working in Hindi films. She expressed her happiness working in the South film industry and feels content with the roles she played.
Talking about staying away from Bollywood for years, Jyothika said:
“I was very happy working in South films. I played some of the best characters of my career there, and I am proud to have been part of the South industry. I don’t think I would have received these roles if I had worked in Hindi films. To be honest, I got married at 28 and left acting. I returned to films at 35 and realized that Tamil cinema offered me strong and leading roles, where I shared equal space with the hero. Now, I am in Hindi films again and receiving a lot of love, so there is nothing to complain about. I am very happy with my career.”
Recently, Jyothika made her Bollywood comeback after several years with Shaitaan, starring Ajay Devgn and R. Madhavan. She was also seen in Rajkummar Rao’s film Srikanth. Now, she will soon be seen in Dabba Cartel, alongside Shabana Azmi, Gajraj Rao, Nimisha Sajayan, Shalini Pandey, Anjali Anand, Sai Tamhankar, Jisshu Sengupta, Lillete Dubey, and Bhupendra Singh Jadawat. The series is set to release on Netflix on February 28.
