Betul, Madhya Pradesh – Two major road accidents occurred on Saturday on the Bhopal-Nagpur and Betul-Indore National Highways, resulting in the deaths of three people and injuries to two others. The Amla and Betul Kotwali police are investigating both incidents.
Motorcycle Collides with Dumper on Betul-Nagpur Highway
According to reports, the first accident took place near Bothiya Jod on the Betul-Nagpur National Highway. A motorcycle collided with a dumper, killing two young men on the spot and severely injuring a female student. The injured girl, a resident of Prabhatpattan block, was studying in a college in Betul.
Passersby Rushed Injured Student to Hospital
Passersby quickly arranged for an ambulance to transport the injured girl to the district hospital. In a semi-conscious state, she mentioned the names of the two deceased as Jaydev and Rajkumar, but their identities are yet to be confirmed. Amla police are investigating the case, and the bodies of the deceased have been sent for post-mortem at Amla Hospital.
Grain Trader Killed in Betul-Indore Highway Accident
The second accident occurred near Khedi Bridge on the Betul-Indore National Highway. A grain trader, Madanlal Rathore (68), a resident of Chicholi, was traveling to Betul on a scooter with his grandson, Mannu Rathore (17), when a speeding truck hit them. Madanlal Rathore died on the spot, while Mannu sustained injuries.
Truck Driver Fled After Accident
After receiving information, the police conducted a preliminary investigation and sent the body for post-mortem at the district hospital before handing it over to the family. His last rites will be performed on Sunday. The truck driver fled the scene after the accident, and the police are searching for him.
