Rekha Gupta Will Not Stay in Sheesh Mahal; It Will Be Converted Into a Museum
The suspense over whether Delhi’s newly elected Chief Minister Rekha Gupta will reside in Sheesh Mahal has finally ended. Before taking her oath, Rekha Gupta made it clear that she will not be staying in Sheesh Mahal. Instead, she has announced plans to convert it into a museum.
Today, Rekha Gupta is set to take the oath as the Chief Minister of Delhi, along with six other ministers. The swearing-in ceremony will be held at Ramlila Maidan at 12:15 PM. After the oath-taking, it is expected that the entire cabinet will seek the blessings of River Yamuna.

Sheesh Mahal to Become a Museum
In an exclusive interview with News18 India, Rekha Gupta stated, “I will not stay in Sheesh Mahal. It will be turned into a museum. This palace was built with the hard-earned money of the people, and I want to dedicate it to them. The public should visit it and understand where their money has been spent. After taking the oath, I will also seek the blessings of Yamuna Maiya.”
Delhi Has Lagged Behind in the Past 12 Years
When asked about the challenges ahead, she said, “Challenges exist in every task. Over the past 12 years, Delhi has fallen behind. The people of Delhi can see and feel it. Our goal is to fulfill the vision of a developed Delhi and a developed India. We are committed to making this dream a reality.”
“Every Penny Will Be Accounted For”
Rekha Gupta also mentioned that the agenda for the first cabinet meeting will be decided today. “We will hold our first cabinet meeting and set our roadmap. The Aam Aadmi Party government failed in its responsibility towards the Yamuna. Every penny of corruption will be exposed, and AAP will have to account for every rupee spent,” she asserted.
Rekha Gupta and Six Ministers to Take Oath
Rekha Gupta, MLA from Shalimar Bagh, will be sworn in as Delhi’s new Chief Minister today, becoming the fourth woman to hold the position after Sushma Swaraj, Sheila Dikshit, and Atishi.
Alongside her, six ministers—Parvesh Verma, Ashish Sood, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Ravinder Indraj Singh, Kapil Mishra, and Pankaj Kumar Singh—will also take their oaths. A notification regarding their appointments has already been issued.
