
Acharya Satyendra Das Passed Away: The chief priest of the Shri Ram Temple in Ayodhya, Acharya Satyendra Das, has passed away. He breathed his last at the age of 87 at PGI Lucknow on Wednesday. He was admitted to the neurology ward of PGI on February 3rd after suffering a stroke. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had visited him recently to inquire about his health. According to PGI Director Dr. RK Dhiman, his treatment was continuously monitored by doctors. Several prominent figures, including Union Home Minister Amit Shah, CM Yogi Adityanath, Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya, and Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak, expressed deep sorrow at the passing of Acharya Satyendra Das.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah shared his condolences on the social media platform ‘X’, writing, “The passing of Acharya Satyendra Das, the chief priest of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, is an irreparable loss to the saint community and devotees. Acharya Ji, a symbol of faith and devotion among Ram devotees, dedicated his life to serving the Lord and guiding the devotees. He played an active role in the Ram Janmabhoomi movement. May Lord Ram grant the virtuous soul a place at His feet and provide solace to the grieving family and followers. Om Shanti.” Similarly, CM Yogi expressed his grief, stating, “It is extremely sad and an irreplaceable loss to the spiritual world with the passing of Acharya Shri Satyendra Kumar Das Ji Maharaj, the chief priest of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, Shri Ayodhya Dham. My humble tribute! I pray to Lord Shri Ram to grant the departed soul a place at His feet and provide the strength to the grieving disciples and followers to bear this immense sorrow. Om Shanti!”
Acharya Satyendra Das dedicated his life to the service of Ram Lalla. He had been serving Ram Lalla since the time the deity was in a tent at the Ram Janmabhoomi site in Ayodhya.
According to the hospital, Acharya Satyendra Das passed away on Wednesday. He had been admitted to PGI’s neurology ICU. PGI officials confirmed that he had suffered a stroke and had diabetes and high blood pressure. He breathed his last at PGI.
Acharya Satyendra Das was also associated with the Ram Janmabhoomi movement. He played a crucial role at every significant event, from the Supreme Court’s verdict in favor of the Ram Temple to the temple’s construction and consecration. Despite his ill health during the Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha, he not only provided guidance but also participated actively in the ceremony. His passing has left his followers in mourning. His body has been brought from PGI Lucknow to his home in Ayodhya, where people are paying their last respects. According to one of his disciples, the last rites will be performed on February 13th at 12 PM on the banks of the Sarayu River.
