
PM Modi Meets French President Emmanuel Macron
Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in France on Monday for a three-day visit, where he will co-chair the ‘AI Action Summit’ with French President Emmanuel Macron and hold bilateral talks with him. In a post on ‘X,’ Modi shared pictures of his arrival and wrote, “Just arrived in Paris a short while ago. Looking forward to various programs focused on future-oriented sectors such as AI, technology, and innovation.”
Grand Welcome for PM Modi
Upon reaching his hotel, PM Modi received a warm welcome from the Indian community in France. Expressing his gratitude, he posted, “A memorable welcome in Paris! Despite the cold weather, the Indian community showed their affection this evening. We are grateful to our diaspora and proud of their achievements.”
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal also shared a post on ‘X’ stating, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has arrived in Paris, where he received a special welcome. French Armed Forces Minister Sébastien Lecornu warmly received him at the airport.” Lecornu also took to ‘X’ to extend his welcome to Modi.
Later in the evening, Modi will attend a dinner hosted by President Macron at the Élysée Palace in honor of visiting heads of state and government officials. Several CEOs from the technology sector and other distinguished invitees of the summit are also expected to be present.
AI Action Summit and Bilateral Talks
On Tuesday, Prime Minister Modi and President Macron will co-chair the ‘AI Action Summit.’ Before leaving for France, Modi had stated, “I look forward to co-chairing the AI Action Summit, a gathering of world leaders and global technology CEOs. We will discuss a collaborative approach to AI innovation for inclusive, safe, and trustworthy development that benefits public welfare.”
The two leaders will also engage in delegation-level talks and address the India-France CEO Forum.
Visit to Mazargues War Memorial
On Wednesday, PM Modi and President Macron will visit the Mazargues War Memorial to pay tribute to Indian soldiers who sacrificed their lives during World War I. Modi will also inaugurate the new Consulate General of India in Marseille.
Additionally, both leaders will visit Cadarache, the site of the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER), a high-science nuclear fusion project.
According to officials, this is PM Modi’s sixth visit to France. After concluding his engagements in France, he will travel to the United States as part of his two-nation tour.
