The 15-month-long conflict between Israel and Hamas in Gaza now seems to be coming to an end with a ceasefire. As part of a truce agreement, Hamas has been gradually releasing hostages taken on October 7, while Israel has also been freeing Palestinian prisoners from its jails.
On Saturday, Hamas released three Israeli hostages, but their condition has left the entire Israeli public in shock.
Seeing their condition, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu strongly condemned Hamas officials, comparing them to monsters. He also reassured his people that he would ensure the complete destruction of the terrorist group. Netanyahu stated that Israel has taken note of the frail condition of the hostages released by Hamas and promised that they would respond accordingly.
Before handing over the three hostages to the Red Cross, Hamas militants asked them to speak in front of the gathered crowd. The three appeared extremely weak and in poor health. This was the first time Hamas had asked released hostages to speak publicly. Compared to previously released hostages, these individuals seemed to be in much worse condition.
After being freed from Hamas captivity, the three hostages were handed over to the Red Cross, which transported them to Israeli territory. They were immediately admitted to a hospital for medical care. According to doctors treating them, their health is in poor condition, and it appears they have suffered from malnutrition over the past year, leading to significant weight loss. They are currently undergoing medical examinations and are being kept under observation.
