Highlights:
PM Modi said that those who take photos with the poor will find their words boring.
Attacking opposition leaders, the Prime Minister stated, “We do not engage in the politics of poison.”
He reminded people of Jawaharlal Nehru’s statement about how only 15 paise out of a rupee reached the poor.
While responding to the discussion on the President’s address, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was highly critical of the Gandhi family. He recalled Rajiv Gandhi’s remark that when one rupee was sent, only 15 paise actually reached the poor. PM Modi commented on this, saying, “It was an incredible sleight of hand. Where did the rest of the money go?”
He also responded to Sonia Gandhi’s comment in which she called the President’s address “boring.” Additionally, he targeted Rahul Gandhi’s statement on foreign policy, remarking that some people speak on foreign policy just to appear well-educated.

In the Lok Sabha, PM Modi said, “There was a Prime Minister in our country who identified a problem and stated that when one rupee was sent from Delhi, only 15 paise would reach the people at the grassroots. Everyone can understand who was receiving those 15 paise… At that time, the same party was in power from the panchayat level to the central level.
We tried to find a solution, and our model is ‘Saving and Development Together’ and ‘People’s Money for the People.’ We created the Jan Dhan, Aadhaar, and Mobile (JAM) Trinity and started Direct Benefit Transfers (DBT). During our tenure, ₹40 lakh crore was directly deposited into people’s bank accounts.
PM Modi further said, ‘There was a previous government where 10 crore people, who were not even born in India, were benefiting from government schemes. We removed them and launched a campaign to ensure that real beneficiaries receive the benefits.’”
Talking About the Poor Seems Boring to Them
Prime Minister Narendra Modi directly attacked Rahul Gandhi, saying that those who conduct photo sessions in the huts of the poor will naturally find discussions about the poor in Parliament boring. This statement was in response to Rahul Gandhi calling the President’s address “boring” when asked by journalists.
PM Modi further remarked that such statements come either from a high fever or extreme frustration. He also addressed Rahul Gandhi’s question on AI, saying that for him, AI is not just “single AI” but “double AI.”
We Do Not Practice the Politics of Poison
PM Modi asserted that his party does not indulge in the politics of poison. He referred to a past comment by Rahul Gandhi, where he described politics as poison.
Additionally, PM Modi criticized Rahul Gandhi’s “Indian State” remark, stating that it is unfortunate that some people speak the language of urban Naxals. He emphasized that those who declare a fight against the Indian State neither understand the spirit of the Constitution nor the unity of the nation.
Attacking Sonia Gandhi, PM Modi said that earlier, newspaper headlines used to be filled with scams and corruption. Over the past ten years, crores of rupees have been saved and used for the benefit of the people. We have taken several steps and saved a lot of money, but we did not use that money to build a “glass palace.” Instead, we used it to build the nation.
