In a grand ceremony held at Taj Hotel, Mumbai, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) honored Vishnu with the prestigious MA Chidambaram Award for his outstanding performance.

BCCI Recognizes Vishnu Bhardwaj’s Talent
Vishnu Bhardwaj was among 28 young cricketers selected for the BCCI Annual Naman Awards. He received the MA Chidambaram Trophy for his incredible record of taking 38 wickets in seven matches during the 2023-24 Under-19 Cooch Behar Trophy. His exceptional performance has raised hopes of him making it to the national team soon.
Family’s Reaction to Vishnu’s Achievement
In an exclusive conversation with News Media, Vishnu’s father, Ganesh Bhardwaj, shared that his son’s love for cricket started at the young age of nine.
“After school, Vishnu would drop his bag and rush to play cricket before doing anything else,” he said. Vishnu’s journey began on the small grounds of Bhind, and he gradually progressed through Under-14, Under-16, and Under-19 teams. He is now a part of the Under-23 squad, and his recent national recognition is a matter of pride for his family, district, and the entire state of Madhya Pradesh.
Sachin Tendulkar Receives Lifetime Achievement Award
Adding to the significance of the event, the legendary Sachin Tendulkar was also honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award, along with 11 other prominent cricketers.
Vishnu’s mother, in an emotional statement, shared,
“I wanted my son to become a government officer, but he was passionate about cricket. We supported him, and today, he has made our district proud.”
With this prestigious award, Vishnu Bhardwaj has set his sights on bigger dreams, and cricket enthusiasts eagerly await his rise in Indian cricket.
