MP Farmers to Receive ₹10,000 Under Paddy Promotion Scheme – Big Relief from Mohan Government
Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh: In a major announcement for paddy farmers, the Mohan government in Madhya Pradesh is set to provide financial assistance of up to ₹10,000 under the Paddy Promotion Scheme. The government will offer ₹2,000 per hectare as an incentive to farmers cultivating paddy, with a maximum limit of five hectares per farmer.
Scheme Details and Implementation
1. Final Approval Awaited:

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav is currently on a visit to Japan, and the scheme is expected to be finalized upon his return.
2. Eligibility and Financial Assistance:

Paddy farmers with up to 5 hectares of land will receive ₹2,000 per hectare, with a maximum incentive of ₹10,000 per farmer.
The amount will be directly transferred to the farmers’ Aadhaar-linked bank accounts within one to two months.
3. Fulfilling BJP’s Election Promise:

During the Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections, the BJP had promised to purchase wheat at ₹2,700 per quintal and paddy at ₹3,100 per quintal.
While wheat procurement was initiated, there was no initial announcement of an incentive, leading to criticism from the Congress, which accused the government of failing to keep its promises.
In response, the government later announced a bonus of ₹125 per quintal for wheat.
4. Shift from Bonus to Direct Incentive:
In December 2024, the Mohan government decided to replace the paddy bonus system with a direct per-hectare incentive.
The incentive is fixed at ₹2,000 per hectare, ensuring more farmers benefit.
5. Who Will Benefit?

The scheme covers all categories of farmers, including small, marginal, and large landholders.
To ensure fair distribution, the maximum limit is set at five hectares per farmer.
What’s Next?

The agriculture department has prepared the framework for implementing the scheme, and the funds are expected to be disbursed soon after the CM’s return from Japan. With this move, the Mohan government aims to provide direct financial relief to farmers, fulfilling its electoral promises and boosting agricultural productivity in the state.
