Delhi Election 2025: With only a few days left for campaigning in the Delhi Assembly elections, all parties have thrown their full strength into the final phase of the election. The BJP has deployed all NDA MPs to campaign in the last phase of the election. Additionally, the top leadership of the BJP is campaigning with full force. This time, the BJP is working both through large rallies and grassroots-level efforts. BJP and RSS workers are organizing small gatherings at every assembly seat to engage with the public. Furthermore, the BJP’s primary focus is on booth management. Meanwhile, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is also running an aggressive campaign, but, like the previous two elections, there seems to be a lack of enthusiasm in AAP’s efforts. It seems that AAP’s election campaign has derailed.
On Saturday, 8 MLAs who resigned from AAP joined the BJP. Although the main contest is likely between the BJP and AAP, Congress is working to make the contest triangular. Congress’s aggression has become a source of trouble for AAP.
BJP Engaged in Gaining AAP Supporters’ Votes: The BJP began preparing for the Delhi Assembly elections six months ago. The party launched a special campaign to win over slum dwellers, with party leaders staying overnight in slums to understand their issues. The Union Home Minister addressed a conference of slum leaders and promised to resolve all their problems. The party tried to make issues like poor water supply and unemployment in these settlements a key focus. Additionally, the Prime Minister handed over keys to flats to several slum dwellers, sending the message that the BJP is the party that can fulfill the promise of houses where there were once slums.
The BJP campaigned extensively in slum areas to promote this scheme, trying to convey that the Delhi government has not done anything for the welfare of slum dwellers. Simply promising free electricity and water cannot bring about a change in people’s living standards. This initiative by the party seems to be successful.
