Samajwadi Party MLA on Maha Kumbh 2025: Home Minister Amit Shah took a holy dip at the Maha Kumbh today. In response, SP MLA Om Prakash Singh targeted Amit Shah. Find out what he said.
Ghazipur News Today: Home Minister Amit Shah arrived in Prayagraj on Monday (January 27). There, he took a holy dip in the Triveni Sangam of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the invisible Saraswati rivers with the saints of the Juna Akhada during the Maha Kumbh. In response, a significant statement has come from Om Prakash Singh, the Samajwadi Party MLA from Zamania, Uttar Pradesh.

Samajwadi Party MLA Om Prakash Singh made a sarcastic remark, saying that if Home Minister Amit Shah has taken a holy dip in the Kumbh, then the water of the Ganga must be checked. Om Prakash Singh was attending a meeting of the Gazipur District Panchayat when he made the statement.
Earlier, Singh had commented on the Ganga water during the Maha Kumbh, saying that with the extreme cold, people could die from bathing in the Kumbh because the water there is polluted and the arrangements are poor. However, now Om Prakash Singh defended his earlier statement.
When asked about Samajwadi Party President and former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav taking a holy dip in the Kumbh, Om Prakash Singh said, “I had said that the Ganga should be purified. People bathe in the Ganga to earn merit.”
Singh praised Akhilesh Yadav, saying, “He organized the Kumbh in 2012, and he has faith and belief in it, which is why he works on it.”
When questioned about the recent disturbance by MLA Bedi Ram at the Gazipur District Panchayat meeting, Om Prakash Singh said that it did not happen in his presence, so he could not comment on it.
