Ajit Pawar’s Bold Statement at Iftar: A Call for Communal Harmony in Maharashtra
Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister and NCP leader Ajit Pawar recently hosted an Iftar party, delivering a powerful message of unity and communal harmony. Speaking at the event, he emphasized that India stands as a symbol of unity in diversity and warned against falling into the trap of divisive forces.

Pawar stated, “We have recently celebrated Holi, and soon we will celebrate Gudi Padwa and Eid together. Our festivals unite us, and unity is our real strength.”
A Stern Warning Against Disturbing Communal Peace
Addressing the audience, Ajit Pawar made a strong statement:
“I assure you that your brother, Ajit Pawar, is with you. Anyone who tries to intimidate our Muslim brothers and sisters, or attempts to disturb peace by inciting clashes, will not be spared. The law will take strict action against such individuals, no matter who they are.”
The Significance of Ramadan
Speaking about Ramadan, Pawar highlighted its spiritual and social importance:
“Ramadan is not limited to one religion; it symbolizes humanity, sacrifice, and self-reflection. It teaches self-restraint and inspires us to understand the pain of the less fortunate. Fasting purifies not just the body but also the mind and soul.”
A Political Response to Nitesh Rane’s Controversial Statement?
Pawar’s remarks are seen as a strong counter to BJP leader Nitesh Rane’s recent claim that Shivaji Maharaj’s army had no Muslim soldiers. Reacting to such divisive statements, Pawar urged politicians to be mindful of their words, as they could fuel communal tensions.
His message comes amid rising communal incidents in Maharashtra, including recent violence in Nagpur following the Aurangzeb tomb controversy. Authorities have already arrested 14 individuals in connection with the clashes.
CM Devendra Fadnavis on ‘Rajdharma’
Earlier, Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis also advised leaders to exercise restraint in their language. He emphasized the need to uphold Rajdharma, citing former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s statement that ministers must act responsibly and ensure justice for all citizens.
Ajit Pawar’s message of communal harmony comes at a crucial time and is being seen as a significant appeal for peace in Maharashtra’s charged political atmosphere.
