Stock Market Live Updates Today: On the last trading day of the week, the stock market opened with a decline. However, shortly after, the market witnessed a surge. As a result, the Sensex rose by 204.76 points or 0.27% to reach 76,725.14. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading 0.23% higher, gaining 52.30 points to reach 23,257.65. Earlier today, the Sensex had opened at 76,455.35, and the Nifty at 23,183.90.

Markets Gained on Thursday

Amid positive trends in global markets, buying in Information Technology (IT), consumer durables, and commodity stocks led domestic stock markets to close higher for the second consecutive day on Thursday. The Sensex rose by 115 points, while the Nifty gained 50 points. Experts noted that despite volatile trading, investors showed confidence in select sectors. However, banking stocks faced selling pressure.

The BSE benchmark index, Sensex, gained 115.39 points or 0.15%, closing at 76,520.38. During the session, it had surged by 338.55 points to reach an intraday high of 76,743.54. Meanwhile, the National Stock Exchange (NSE) benchmark index, Nifty, rose by 50 points or 0.22%, closing at 23,205.35.
