Mhow Violence: Situation Under Control After Stone Pelting & Arson, Heavy Police Deployment
Indore, Mhow News: A violent clash broke out in Mhow, Indore, during the celebration of India’s victory in the Champions Trophy final, leading to stone pelting and arson. Police have arrested 13 accused, and more are being identified through CCTV footage. Following the incident, the Army’s Quick Response Team has been deployed, and the situation is now completely under control.

How Did the Violence Start?
A group of over 100 people on 50 motorcycles took out a victory procession after India’s win. However, when the rally passed near Jama Masjid, an altercation occurred between two groups, escalating into stone pelting and vehicles being set on fire. According to Indore Collector Ashish Singh, several vehicles were vandalized, with at least six set ablaze, including two cars.
Firecrackers Triggered the Clash
Indore Rural SP Hitika Vasal stated that some individuals burst crackers near the mosque, sparking tensions between the two communities, which led to stone pelting. Police patrolling is ongoing, and complete peace has been restored.
Heavy Security Deployment in Mhow
To maintain law and order, authorities have deployed eight army contingents and conducted continuous monitoring of affected areas. The violence was reported in Market Chowk, Jama Masjid area, Batakh Mohalla, Dhaan Mandi, and Patti Bazaar. Around 15 vehicles were damaged, and the police used lathicharge and tear gas to disperse the crowd.
FIR Registered in Mhow Police Station
Following the communal tension, a case has been registered at Mhow Police Station, and investigations are underway. Senior officials, including SP Hitika Vasal, visited the site to assess the situation. The police have assured that strict action will be taken against the culprits.
