Action Against DTO Anil Kumar Das for Amassing Illegal Wealth; Raids Conducted in Nalanda and Patna

Once again, an official in Bihar has come under scrutiny for accumulating assets through illegal means. This time, the action has been taken not against a regular public servant but a senior officer of BPSC. The Special Vigilance Unit (SVU) is conducting raids at the premises of Nalanda District Transport Officer (DTO) Anil Kumar Das. The raids are taking place at his residence and office in Nalanda, as well as at his private residence in Patna. The case pertains to disproportionate assets. Notably, Anil Kumar Das has previously served for a long time as an Anumandal Officer in Muzaffarpur. The crackdown has caused a stir in administrative circles.

94 Lakh Rupees Worth of Illegal Assets Under Investigation

SVU has registered a case against DTO Anil Kumar Das for allegedly amassing illegal wealth worth ₹94 lakh. The raid, which began on Friday morning, has led to the seizure of several valuables, including a large quantity of gold and silver jewelry. Anil Das is known for his fondness for luxurious clothing, jewelry, and a lavish lifestyle.

During the raid, officials recovered large amounts of cash, jewelry, and crucial documents. The operation was led by Vigilance DSP Chandrabhooshan Singh. Anil Kumar Das hails from Jamui district, and the case against him was registered a day before the raid.

The SVU team arrived at DTO Anil Kumar Das’s rented house in Bihar Sharif between 6 and 7 AM in two vehicles. After the landlord opened the door, the team entered and conducted an extensive search. Officials spent several hours meticulously examining the premises. The raid resulted in the seizure of gold and silver ornaments and other expensive items. According to sources, several important documents related to corruption have also been found, which are currently under investigation. The value of the seized jewelry is estimated to be in lakhs of rupees.

Department in Turmoil as Investigation Expands

The probe against DTO Anil Kumar Das is not limited to Nalanda. The SVU team is also conducting a parallel raid at his residence in Patna. It is expected that the investigation may uncover more shocking revelations. As of now, the SVU team is maintaining secrecy while gathering evidence.

The raids were initiated based on complaints received against DTO Anil Kumar Das. If the allegations are proven true, strict legal action will be taken against him. This development has sent shockwaves through the Transport Department, leaving other officials and employees anxious about possible further investigations.
