What is the Case About?
Lawyer Nripendra Pandey filed a complaint against Rahul Gandhi in 2022 under Section 156(3) of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC). The complaint alleged that on December 17, 2022, during a press conference in Akola, Maharashtra, Rahul Gandhi referred to Veer Savarkar as a “servant of the British” and a “pension receiver.”
Nripendra Pandey claimed that Rahul Gandhi’s statement was made with the intention of spreading enmity and hatred in society. He further stated that pre-prepared pamphlets were also distributed among journalists during the press conference to reinforce the statement.
