PM Modi in Vantara: Prime Minister Narendra Modi Inaugurates Wildlife Rescue, Rehabilitation, and Conservation Center in GujaratPrime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Vantara Wildlife Rescue, Rehabilitation, and Conservation Center in Gujarat. During his visit, he inspected various facilities at Vantara, which serves as a sanctuary for over 2,000 species and more than 1.5 lakh rescued animals. PM Modi reviewed the center’s advanced veterinary facilities and gained insights into the conservation efforts for rare species. He also observed a live surgery being performed on an animal. While exploring Vantara, he spent time with various animals, including lions, tigers, giraffes, elephants, and parrots.PM Modi Feeds Lion CubsPM Modi personally fed and spent time with different cubs, including those of Asiatic lions, white lions, caracals, and clouded leopards. The white lion cub he was seen feeding was born to a rescued lioness brought to Vantara. Caracal lions, once abundant in India, have now become rare. At Vantara, breeding efforts for caracals are underway, and the cubs are later released into the wild.Tour of MRI Room and Operation TheaterThe Prime Minister also toured the veterinary hospital’s MRI room, where he observed an MRI scan being conducted on an Asiatic lion. Additionally, he visited the operation theater, where a leopard was undergoing surgery after being rescued following an accident on a highway. Many animals rescued from various locations are brought to Vantara for care and rehabilitation. The center is particularly focused on the conservation of Asiatic lions, snow leopards, and the one-horned rhinoceros.

In Vantara, Prime Minister Modi saw a golden tiger and four snow tigers rescued from a circus. He patted an okapi and also met a chimpanzee. He lovingly played with an orangutan and then closely observed a hippopotamus.He inspected the world’s largest elephant hospital.PM Modi also saw a large python, a rare two-headed snake, a two-headed turtle, a tapir, rescued leopard cubs, a giant otter, a bongo (antelope), and a seal. He watched elephants enjoying their jacuzzi, a special pool that helps those suffering from arthritis and leg issues recover through hydrotherapy. PM Modi also reviewed the operations of the world’s largest elephant hospital.During his visit, he released rescued parrots into the wild and interacted with doctors, support staff, and workers managing various facilities at the Vantara center.
