Maharashtra News: Deputy CM Eknath Shinde said, “There is no cold war between CM Fadnavis and me. In this heat, everything is cool. No matter how many breaking news stories you create, there will be no break between us.”
Maharashtra News: Why Did Ajit Pawar Tell Eknath Shinde, ‘Your Chair…’ in Front of CM Devendra Fadnavis?
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar held a joint press conference ahead of the Maharashtra Budget Session starting on Monday (March 3). During the conference, CM Devendra Fadnavis mentioned that they had invited the opposition for high tea, but the opposition chose to boycott it.

During the press conference, Deputy CM Eknath Shinde jokingly remarked that he and Devendra Fadnavis had swapped chairs (CM and DCM positions), but Ajit Pawar’s chair (Deputy CM post) remained fixed. This led to laughter in the room. In response, Ajit Pawar quipped, “If you couldn’t keep your chair fixed, what can I do?” To this, Shinde replied, “We switched chairs with mutual consent.”
Following this, Shinde emphasized that there was no “cold war” between him and CM Fadnavis. He added, “In this heat, everything is cool. No matter how many breaking news stories you create, there will be no break between us.”
Earlier, CM Devendra Fadnavis spoke about the budget session, saying, “The session begins tomorrow. The opposition has given us a nine-page letter. Their stance is like ‘Hum Aapke Hain Kaun?’ rather than ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain’. They were given a chance for a fluent discussion, but they didn’t attend the pre-budget tea meeting (chahapan). The letter they provided is based only on newspaper articles. We will give the opposition ample time to speak in the assembly.”
Deputy CM Ajit Pawar added, “The opposition did not attend today’s meeting before the budget session. They have sent us a letter, and we will certainly try to ensure the session runs smoothly.”
Deputy CM Eknath Shinde further stated, “This is our government’s second session. Only our roles (referring to him and Fadnavis) have changed. But yes, Ajit Dada’s role remains unchanged. We have launched several projects that the previous MVA government had stalled. Ajit Dada will present Maharashtra’s budget.”
