The ICC released the latest ODI rankings on Wednesday, bringing good news for Virat Kohli. Following his century against Pakistan in the Champions Trophy 2025, Kohli has climbed up in the rankings. Team India now has three players in the top five of the ODI batting rankings. Shubman Gill retains the top spot, while Pakistan’s Babar Azam is in second place.
Previously ranked sixth, Kohli has now moved up to the fifth position. He played an unbeaten knock of 100 runs off 111 balls against Pakistan, which included seven boundaries. After Rohit Sharma’s dismissal, Kohli took charge and guided India to victory. Team India won the match by six wickets.

India dominates the latest ODI batting rankings. Shubman Gill holds the No. 1 spot with 817 rating points, followed by Babar Azam in second place with 770 points. Indian captain Rohit Sharma is ranked third with 757 points. South Africa’s Heinrich Klaasen is in fourth place, while Kohli is now at No. 5 with 743 points.
Mohammed Shami Gains in ODI Bowling Rankings
Mohammed Shami, who was sidelined due to injury for a long time, has made a strong comeback. He has delivered impressive performances for India, taking five wickets in two matches of the Champions Trophy 2025. As a result, he has moved up in the ODI bowling rankings, climbing from 15th to 14th position. Meanwhile, India’s Kuldeep Yadav is ranked third, while Sri Lanka’s Maheesh Theekshana holds the No. 1 spot in the bowling rankings.
