Bihar Cabinet Expansion: Governor Arif Mohammad Khan Administers Oath to New Ministers
Governor Arif Mohammad Khan arrived at the oath-taking venue exactly at 4 PM to oversee the final cabinet expansion of the Bihar government. He first administered the oath of office to BJP MLA Sanjay Sarawagi, followed by Sunil Kumar. After Sunil Kumar, the Governor administered the oath to Jivesh Mishra, the MLA from Jale constituency in Darbhanga. Jivesh Mishra is known for his outspoken statements and took his oath in the Maithili language.
Following Jivesh Mishra, BJP MLA Raju Singh was sworn in as a minister. Raju Singh represents the Sahebganj constituency in Muzaffarpur district and belongs to the Rajput community. After him, Motilal Prasad, the MLA from Riga in Sitamarhi, took the oath. He replaced Dilip Jaiswal in the cabinet. Motilal Prasad comes from the Teli community, which is considered a core voter base of the BJP.
Next, Krishna Kumar Mantu was sworn in as a minister. Mantu belongs to the Kurmi community, and the party’s decision to include him in the cabinet is seen as an effort to consolidate Kurmi voters. Mantu joined the BJP in 2020 after leaving the JD(U). Following him, Vijay Kumar Mandal took the oath, marking the completion of the final expansion of the Nitish Kumar-led cabinet.
Sanjay Sarawagi and Jivesh Mishra Took Oath in Maithili
Among the seven BJP MLAs who took the oath as ministers, Sanjay Sarawagi and Jivesh Mishra took their oath in the Maithili language, while the remaining five took their oath in Hindi. The oath-taking ceremony was attended by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Sinha, Speaker of the Bihar Assembly Nand Kishore Yadav, and several other ministers of the Bihar government. After the ceremony, the Governor extended his congratulations and best wishes to all the newly appointed ministers.

Chief Minister Congratulates New Ministers
After the swearing-in ceremony, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar congratulated all the newly appointed ministers. He stated that everyone remains united and extended his best wishes to all the ministers. However, the Chief Minister did not make any further statements during this time.
Total Number of Ministers Reaches 36
With the induction of seven new legislators as ministers, all ministerial positions in the Bihar cabinet are now filled. Bihar has a total of 243 assembly seats, and according to the rules, a maximum of 36 legislators, including the Chief Minister, can be appointed as ministers.
Sanjay Saraogi Makes a Big Announcement After Taking Oath
After taking the oath as a minister in Bihar, BJP leader Sanjay Saraogi spoke to the media, stating, “The Chief Minister has placed his trust in me, and I will live up to expectations. Our goal is to secure more than 225 seats, and under the leadership of the CM, we will achieve it.”
