As per the latest prices released by the bullion market today, the rate of 22-carat gold stands at ₹80,690 per 10 grams, while 24-carat gold is priced at ₹88,020 per 10 grams. The price of 18-carat gold is ₹66,020 per 10 grams. Meanwhile, the rate of 1 kg silver is ₹1,01,000.

How to Check Gold Purity?
The Indian Standard Organization (ISO) provides hallmarking to identify gold purity.
24-carat gold is 99.9% pure and should have a purity rating of 1.0 (24/24 = 1.00).
22-carat gold has 91.6% purity, marked as 916 (22/24 = 0.916).
18-carat gold is marked 750, 21-carat gold as 875, and 23-carat gold as 958.
22-carat gold contains 9% other metals like copper, silver, and zinc to make jewelry.
24-carat gold is not used for jewelry as it is too soft; it is mainly available in coin or bar form.
Most jewelers sell 18, 20, and 22-carat gold for ornaments.
