What is the Dark Web?
The dark web is considered the “black chapter” of the internet world. In most cases, cybercriminals use it for illegal activities. It is a part of the internet that exists but cannot be accessed through regular search engines like Google or Bing. Instead, it is an encrypted network that requires special software for access.
The dark web is commonly used for human trafficking, drug deals, arms trafficking, and child pornography. User information on the dark web is encrypted, making it nearly impossible to decode.
Websites on the dark web are hidden using The Onion Router (Tor) encryption tool, preventing them from being accessed through standard search engines like Google. The dark web protects users from tracking and surveillance by routing and re-routing their connections through multiple locations. It continuously connects and disconnects from different IP addresses, making it nearly impossible to trace.
Transactions on the dark web are conducted using virtual currencies like Bitcoin, ensuring anonymity and making it difficult to track financial activities.
