Karan Johar is a prominent filmmaker in Bollywood. There was a time when his house was mortgaged. His mother had a heart attack, and even their cameras had to be sold. During that time, Amitabh Bachchan came forward to help Yash Johar. He suggested making Agneepath to help Yash come out of debt. However, the film was a huge flop at the box office.

Karan’s mother had a heart attack
In a conversation with Laharein Retro, Nikhil Advani shared, “I remember Karan told me that there was a time when they sold their lights and cameras. They had mortgaged their house. Heer’s aunty had a heart attack. Perhaps Amitji met Yash uncle and asked, ‘How is Heeru?’ Yash uncle told him that she was at Breach Candy Hospital. Amitji left his shoot and went to visit her in the hospital.”
How Agneepath was made
Nikhil continued, “They were at the hospital. Amitji came out, met Yash uncle, and told him, ‘There’s a boy I’m making a film with. Ramesh is producing the film, but you should call him and tell him that Amit has given you the dates. There’s a subject we should work on together.’ That’s how Agneepath was made.” Nikhil mentioned that Amitabh Bachchan directly told Yash Chopra that he knew their situation and was offering the dates to make the film. Agneepath was made for 28.5 crores but flopped at the box office.
