Ranveer Allahbadia recently made a controversial remark about Sameer Raina’s show India’s Got Latent, which many found offensive and inappropriate. As a result, he has faced strong backlash on social media, with several prominent figures from various industries criticizing his statement. Celebrities like Imtiaz Ali, Manoj Bajpayee, Mukesh Khanna, Ravi Kishan, and Mika Singh have shared their reactions.
BJP MP and Bollywood actor Ravi Kishan strongly condemned Ranveer’s comment, stating, “Using such language is extremely unfortunate and shameful. Such things cannot be promoted in India.”
Imtiaz Ali on the Ranveer Allahbadia Controversy
In an interview with Instant Bollywood, filmmaker Imtiaz Ali commented on the controversy, saying, “The fame that comes quickly also fades away just as fast. I believe people should pursue what they genuinely enjoy. Obscenity is obviously a negative thing—anyone would say that. However, people can be immature, so we shouldn’t always take their mistakes too seriously.”
Manoj Bajpayee and Ravi Kishan’s Reactions
Bollywood actor Manoj Bajpayee also addressed the controversy, stating, “Success comes very quickly these days. The real joy is in holding onto success for a longer time so that one can truly enjoy it. Young and upcoming individuals should take time to observe and understand their surroundings. That’s why I always say—read the newspaper, man!”
Meanwhile, actor and politician Ravi Kishan criticized the show India’s Got Latent, calling it a copy of Western formats. He said, “India has a different culture, and they have imitated a Western show. Using such language is extremely unfortunate and shameful. Such things cannot be promoted in India… The law will take its course. Others should learn from this incident, and there must be a sense of fear regarding the law.”
