YouTuber Dhruv Rathee has responded to a statement made by Ranveer Allahabadia on Sameer Raina’s show. He tweeted that what is being done today in the name of “dank comedy” is completely nonsense.

Ranveer Allahbadia is facing increasing trouble. During comedian Samay Raina’s show “India’s Got Latent,” Ranveer made a comment about his parents, which has led to criticism on social media. FIRs have been filed against both in several states. Additionally, according to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the controversial episode of “India’s Got Latent” featuring Ranveer has been blocked on YouTube in India. Many celebrities and politicians are reacting to his comment. On one hand, everyone is criticizing Ranveer, while on the other hand, YouTuber Dhruv Rathee has stated that the so-called “dunk comedy” happening today is complete nonsense.
Dhruv Rathee wrote on X, “I may not like or agree with the content of Ranveer or Samay, but the way politicians, media anchors, police, and the entire machinery are harassing them is unacceptable, wrong, and highly questionable. It seems like an agenda to divert attention from real issues and impose dangerous censorship. Yesterday, the news about the resignation of the Chief Minister of Manipur was completely shut down on news channels.”
In another tweet, Dhruv Rathee added, “I have always been against the use of profanity and abusive language. In the over 1000 videos, shorts, and reels I have made, you won’t find a single curse word aimed at anyone. What is happening today in the name of dunk comedy is absolute nonsense. Its sole purpose is to shock and disappoint the audience, which negatively affects the moral development of our youth. Shows like ‘India’s Got Latent’ have the same effect on societal morals as animal-like movies, and they need to be called out for it in strong terms.”
