Saif Ali Khan Speaks for the First Time About the January 16 Attack
For the first time since the attack on January 16, Saif Ali Khan has spoken about the incident in detail with a media house. He shared how his entire family was in shock but stood by his side. Surprisingly, Saif took his son Taimur with him to the hospital that night, which left many people astonished. He also revealed how his mother, Sharmila Tagore, reacted to the situation and how she comforted him by holding his hand and singing a lullaby.
Did Sharmila Give Him a Lecture?
Saif spoke to Bombay Times and recounted the events of that night. When asked whether his mother, Sharmila Tagore, gave him a lecture for taking Taimur to the hospital, Saif denied it. Instead, she supported his decision. Saif admitted he initially thought she would be upset, but instead, she told him, “What you did was right. This experience gave Taimur a different perspective on things.”
Sharmila Sang a Lullaby
Saif further shared, “She understood a parent’s protective instincts. I remember as a child, she would say, ‘If anyone tries to hurt you, they will have to go through me first.’ That always had an impact on me. I think every parent feels the same way. The doctors were concerned about the risk of secondary infections, so she ensured that everyone, including the doctors, wore masks. As a mother, she was a little scared too.”
He continued, “She held my hand and sang a song—it was very comforting. I don’t remember exactly which song it was, but it was a lullaby. It was the first time since childhood that something like this happened.”
