12 Naxals Killed, Weapons Recovered

Bijapur: An encounter is ongoing between security forces and Naxals along the Chhattisgarh-Maharashtra border. The clash, which has been going on for several hours, has resulted in 31 Naxals being killed, confirmed by Deputy CM and Home Minister Vijay Sharma. Two soldiers have been martyred, and two others are injured. The injured soldiers are being rescued and preparations are underway to bring them to Raipur.
The encounter is taking place in the Edapalli area of Bijapur district, near the Sandra area of the National Park, where continuous gunfire is being reported.
According to reports, the encounter involves the District Reserve Guard (DRG), Special Task Force (STF) personnel, and Naxals. The Naxals’ National Park Area Committee, based in Farsegarh, is said to be active in the region. Automatic weapons were also recovered from the site. The number of Naxals killed may increase.
Two Soldiers Martyred
So far, 31 Naxal bodies in uniforms have been recovered from the encounter site. A large quantity of weapons and explosives has also been seized from the area. The identities of the deceased Naxals have not yet been confirmed, and investigations are underway to determine who they were and where they were active.
Two soldiers were injured during the encounter. However, their condition is reported to be stable, and arrangements are being made to transfer them to a higher center for better treatment. Additional forces are being sent to the encounter area, and the team continues to search the region.
The encounter occurred in the dense jungle of the National Park area, where a joint team of DRG, STF, and Bastar Fighters clashed with the Naxals. So far, the bodies of 31 Naxals in uniforms have been recovered, along with a large cache of AK-47 rifles, SLRs, INSAS rifles, .303 rifles, BGL launchers, and explosives.
