Vivo is gearing up to launch its next mid-range smartphone, the Vivo V50, in India. Positioned as the successor to last year’s Vivo V40, the V50 is expected to bring notable upgrades, including a Zeiss-powered camera system, a quad-curved display, and a powerful battery. With Vivo already teasing its arrival, let’s take a closer look at how the Vivo V50 could differentiate itself from the Vivo V40 in terms of performance, design, and camera features.

Performance & Design: What’s Changing?

According to leaks, the Vivo V50 will be powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor, the same 4nm chipset that also runs on the Vivo V40. While the performance may remain similar, the design could see some major changes.
One of the standout upgrades is the quad-curved display, a feature inspired by Vivo’s flagship X200 Pro. This will make the V50’s design sleeker compared to the 3D curved display found on the Vivo V40.

Another change could be in the color options. Tipster Yogesh Brar has hinted at a Rose Red variant, inspired by Indian weddings, making it a unique addition to the lineup. Additionally, the Vivo V50 is expected to be slim yet pack a 6,000mAh battery, an upgrade over the 5,500mAh battery of the Vivo V40, which also supports 80W fast charging.
While the Vivo V40 boasts IP68 and IP69 dust and water resistance, Vivo might retain the same durability features for the Vivo V50 as well.
Display & Camera: What to Expect?

The Vivo V50 is rumored to feature a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and an impressive 5,000-nit peak brightness. If this turns out to be true, it would be a step up in brightness compared to the Vivo V40, which has a 6.78-inch curved panel with 4,500 nits peak brightness.
On the camera front, Vivo is expected to equip the V50 with a 50MP main sensor with OIS and an 8MP ultra-wide camera. This would be a shift from the Vivo V40, which features a 50MP primary camera alongside a 50MP ultra-wide lens.
For selfies, the Vivo V50 is expected to retain the 50MP front camera, just like its predecessor.
